Weighing 28-lbs at 6 months of age in August of xxxx, Lizzie is a young Whippet mix with a very outgoing and energetic personality. Although she likes to chase cats (as most 'sight' breeds do!), she gets along well with other dogs. It's people, however, that really get Lizzie's tail a-wagging! This outgoing and affectionate girl would love a home with active people that have the time and energy to take her on long hikes, play 'fetch,' and Frisbee with her. Just keep in mind that Lizzie must always be on leash when not confined by a fence because if she catches sight of something that just too tempting to resist chasing, she'll be off in a flash. Because Lizzie came to us from another shelter, we don't know if she's house-trained so her new owner should have the time, patience, and experience to work with her in this area should it prove necessary. Lizzie seems to really enjoy the company of other dogs so a home that already has a canine-friendly dog would not only be a great playmate for Lizzie but could serve as a role-model while she learns all she needs to know to be a good Canine Citizen. She's impressed us by how smart she is already so we think Lizzie would be an eager pupil ready to learn just about anything you took the time to teach her.
