This gorgeous Shepherd/Lab mix was born on Christmas Day in xxxx and was recently surrended to ACS. Her tearful owner said that as much as she and her family loved Lou Lou, the young dog hates to be crated and would find a way out of one when left alone. We were told that Lou Lou is house-trained; does great with kids, dogs, and cats; is playful, outgoing, and high energy; and that she rides great in the car. She does need some work on not pulling on the leash and not jumping on people to greet them but she's such a smart dog, we think that she'd easily master these tasks under the tutelage of a firm but patient owner. Although extremely outgoing and friendly, at a sturdy and strong 54-lbs, Lou Lou can easily knock someone down so it is important that her new owner have the time, experience, and inclination to teach her all she needs to know to be a well-mannered Canine Citizen. A fenced yard would definitely be preferable for Lou Lou but an active owner with a proven history of leash-walking may work out provided they are willing to take her on at least one very long walk and several shorter walks every day. Because of her separation anxiety, Lou Lou needs a home where someone is there most of the time and with an owner who is willing to work with her on resolving this behavior issue. Lou Lou may have a few "ruff" edges, but with the right owner, we think she'll be a real gem of a dog.
